About Me

I was first introduced to yoga as a gift from my father one Christmas. As someone with an educational background in Medical Science and with extensive experience in competitive sport, I was only interested in the physical outcome of the practice. However, I was gifted with something much more fulfilling.

Yoga has strengthened not only my body, but also my mind and spirit, allowing me to experience modern life through fresh eyes and meet life's challenges with grace. These changes in my own life motivated me to complete my 240hr alignment-based hatha-vinyasa training at the Vancouver School of Healing Arts.

What I Offer

I offer private yoga instruction in alignment-based Hatha, Vinyasa Flow and Power yoga to students with all levels of yoga experience. I am mobile throughout Vancouver, Burnaby & the Tri-Cities.

 

My challenging yet safe classes incorporate meditation, pranayama and yoga philosophy to give students a potent and transformative yoga practice that caters to their needs while promoting deeper learning. My sessions are carefully designed, with the intention of supporting students in achieving their personal goals, facilitating their growth and deepening their connection to themselves and to others.

 

Students who would especially benefit from my teaching include those who:

  • Want to learn the fundamentals of yoga;

  • Seek to reduce stress or anxiety;

  • Are keen learners intent on developing a consistent and in-depth yoga practice; or

  • Would like to achieve specific personal goals related to yoga asana and the physical body.

PRACTICE WITH DESI

Yoga Class

 

"Soaring Heights" every Wednesday, 5pm (PST) at @RVNWellness.

 

This speciality, all-levels class is designed around a vinyasa-flow framework and focuses on inversions, arm balances and their prepatory poses. This is a great class for strengthening and improving overall mobility.

"Freedom Friday Movement" every Friday, 5:30pm (PST) at @RVNWellness.

 

This in an all-levels slow hatha/vinyasa blend class that ends with a deep stretch release and meditation.
